Fan’s attempt to take a selfie on stage with Converge goes horribly wrong
 Add to favorites

A fan’s attempt to take a selfie on stage with Converge ended very badly.

The post-hardcore band were performing at Berkeley, California’s Cornerstone Craft Beer & Live Music venue last month (January 24), when one audience member made their way onto the stage.

Video footage of the incident showed a man stood centre stage trying to put his arm around singer Jacob Bannon. When he lifted his phone up to take the selfie, bassist Nate Newton came over and appeared to make a grab for the phone.

The fan then stage dived back into the crowd, but Loudwire reports the audience moved out of the way, letting him land on the floor. Watch the video below.

The Salem, Massachusetts band released their latest album, ‘The Dusk In Us‘, last year. The record, which was produced by the band’s guitarist Kurt Ballou, topped the Hard Rock Albums Chart in the US. It was also their highest-charting release in the UK.

Converge formed in 1990 and have released nine studio albums, including 2001’s seminal ‘Jane Doe‘. Speaking to NME ahead of the release of 2012’s ‘All We Love We Leave Behind‘, Ballou said: “Our older records feel like they made by somebody else to me, because we were all somebody else then. It’s important to me we keep going, keep being inspired and keep challenging our audience with what we do.”
