Robert Plant discusses possibility of recording with Jimmy Page again

Robert Plant has discussed whether he sees himself recording with his former Led Zeppelin bandmate Jimmy Page again.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the classic rock band, who formed in London in 1968. Page and Plant were joined in the original line-up by John Paul Jones and John Bonham.

Page and Plant last performed together in 2007 at a show at The O2 in London. Afterwards, the rest of Led Zeppelin were reportedly willing to tour and work on new material, but Plant was busy with other touring commitments.

Speaking to Louisville radio DJ Kyle Meredith on 91.9 WFPK, Plant said he had “no idea” whether the two would work together again. “It’s not even within my countenance to imagine it, really,” he said.

When Meredith noted that fans still hold the band “dear in their hearts”, the singer responded: “Me too – nobody more than me. But I don’t want to do it a disservice either.” Watch the interview above, via Consequence Of Sound.

Last year, Page teased “all manner of surprises” coming in 2018 to mark the band’s landmark anniversary.

In an interview for the Academy Of Achievement, Page said the surviving members of the group would be celebrating the milestone in 2018. “There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven’t heard, because I’m working on that,” he said.

He added: “Next year will be the 50th year, so there’s all manner of surprises coming out.”
