Over 40 creators have already signed up in the first wave

Mixcloud has launched a new “fan-to-creator” subscription service called Mixcloud Select.

The new version of the long-form streaming platform – which was first launched in 2008 – has been created in a bid to ensure that artists and curators get paid for their content.

Starting at 2.99 per month, users will be able to access new features including offline listening, exclusive material, and the option to view tracklists upfront.

Co-founder of Mixcloud, Nick Perez, says: “We want to enable fans to get closer to the culture and communities they care about, while ensuring that everyone involved in the creative process is recognised and rewarded accordingly.”

Check out the announcement video below.

The Mixcloud website says: “With Mixcloud Select, subscribers directly support you plus the music and artists you play. Make more, together.”

The service has currently teamed up 40+ creators, with the goal of rolling the service out to their wider community. Among those already signed up are Afrojack, Nicole Moudaber, and Lefto – to the site’s smaller artists. Independent radio stations such as Soho Radio, Brooklyn Radio, and Red Light Radio have also signed up.

Ahead of Mixcloud Select, the platform recently announced new direct licensing deals with large record companies including Universal, Sony and Warner.

Users can register their interest in Mixcloud Select now. Visit the official website for further details.
