"Please know that you have allies".

Halsey has called out Victoria’s Secret for an apparent lack of LGBTQ+ diversity, after performing at one of the fashion brand’s renowned shows.

The fashion show, which aired on US telly last night, saw the singer performing alongside the likes of Shawn Mendes, Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers after it was recorded last month.

But only weeks after she recorded the performance, Victoria’s Secret boss Ed Razek was criticised for comments made to Vogue about transgender models.

“It’s like, why doesn’t your show do this? Shouldn’t you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It’s a 42-minute entertainment special. That’s what it is,” Razek said.

Although he’s since apologised, Halsey criticised the lack of diversity in an Instagram post from last night.

“I have adored the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since I was young. Performing this year alongside other amazing artists, and hardworking models / friends was supposed to be the best night of my year”, Halsey wrote on Instagram.

“If you’re on my page because you watched my performance tonight, please allow me to instead direct your attention to GLSEN: an organization that offers services aimed at protecting LGBTQ+ youth.”

She added: “If you are a trans person reading this, and these comments have made you feel alienated or invalidated please know that you have allies. We stand in solidarity, and complete and total acceptance is the only “fantasy” that I support…”

Meanwhile, Halsey was spotted at The Story So Far’s gig in Hollywood last weekend, and later revealed that she lost two earrings in the mosh pit.
