"I encourage all new and young artists to just focus on your music, family and your money"

The Game has spoken out on Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s ongoing legal troubles, saying that new and aspiring hip-hop artists should take notice of the latter’s situation and instead “focus on music, family and your money”.

Yesterday (November 26), 6ix9ine – real name Daniel Hernandez – pled not guilty to the racketeering and firearms charges he was arrested for earlier this month. In a recent statement of innocence, the rapper’s lawyer Lance Lazzaro said: “Daniel Hernandez is completely innocent of all charges being brought against him. An entertainer who portrays a ‘gangster image’ to promote his music does not make him a member of an enterprise.”

The Game has now addressed 6ix9ine’s recent arrest and charges on Instagram, describing the recent news as “sad” and advising young and up-and-coming artists to use 6ix9ine’s situation as a lesson for themselves.

“This is sad,” Game wrote in an Instagram comment. “This kid ain’t een [sic] bout that life but the pigs will make it look like he was John Gotti on paper n [sic] try to make an example out of him.

“I encourage all new & young artists to just focus on your music family & your money,” he added. “Trying to be Gangsta for fickle fans ain’t the way.”

6ix9ine was denied bail yesterday after pleading not guilty to the charges. A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for January 22, 2019, while the trial itself will not start until September 4, 2019.
