The Britpop band have been in the studio working on new music

Sleeper have announced details of a new tour to coincide with their first new album in 21 years.

The Britpop band launched a Pledge campaign earlier this year, inviting fans to help support the creation of their fourth record. The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 1997’s ‘Pleased To Meet You’ has not been given a firm release date at present, but is due for release in early 2019.

The Louise Wener-led group have now announced a string of dates to take place next year, kicking off in Tunbridge Wells in February. They will then head to 11 other cities across the UK through spring, concluding with a show at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum on April 13.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale at 11am on Monday (November 19) and will be available to purchase here. Sleeper will play:

As they launched the Pledge campaign for the new album earlier this year, Sleeper told fans: “So much has happened. So much to write about. We couldn’t be more excited about the new material.”

The London band formed in 1993 and released three albums – 1995’s ‘Smart’, 1996’s ‘The It Girl’, and 1997’s ‘Pleased To Meet You’ – before disbanding in 1998. They reunited in 2017 and took part in the Star Shaped Festival that summer, touring four British cities with Space, Dodgy, and The Bluetones.
