London is getting a new venue that will fit up to 3,000 gig-goers.

Conceived by Venue Lab, the people behind Printworks, Magazine London opens next summer in Greenwich Peninsula with an indoor venue and an adjoining outdoors environment called Showground.

The combined venue and outdoors space, which sits on the riverbank overlooking Canary Wharf, will provide space for 10,000 people to enjoy music, food, exhibitions, parties, launches, and much more.

Vibration Group have developed the project with help from Knight Dragon Ltd, a property and investment company.

Knight Dragon CEO Richard Margree says the new venue fits “superbly” with a new outlook for London.

“Magazine London fits superbly with what we’re doing on Greenwich Peninsula – creating a new London underpinned by creativity, a community with culture and entertainment at its heart,” he said.

The building is designed by world renowned architect Nissen Richards, responsible for the V&A Lecture Theatre and Seoul Opera House.

North Greenwich Tube station, which is less than 300m from the venue, will be the main public transport link for attendees.

Organisers say the versatile space will be a new home for music festivals as well as award ceremonies and conferences.

Construction begins in December with the launch set for summer 2019.
