The second single from their forthcoming record ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’

Matty Healy has revealed the meaning behind The 1975‘s socially conscious track ‘Love It If We Made It’, released earlier this year.

The song marked the second release from the band’s forthcoming record ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’, set to be released on November 30.

Speaking in a video with Genius, Healy says the song covers everything from the death of Lil’ Peep to the refugee crisis in the Middle East to sexual assault accusations against Donald Trump.

“It’s the gem of hope amongst all of the rubble,” Healy says of the song. “I didn’t want to do a protest song. I wanted to be introspective but not so much like my diary.” You can watch Healy explain it verse-for-verse below.

Meanwhile, Healy has teased a couple of small The 1975 shows before the band head out on their arena tour in 2019.

Last month, the band announced details of a huge UK tour at some of the country’s biggest venues – including London’s O2 Arena.

However, it seems the frontman is keen to treat the band’s fans to a more intimate performance. “2 tiny shows before Christmas,” he tweeted, before adding, “In Southern England (near where I live) I’m not missioning about in December no thankss”

Replying to a fan who tweeted, “Play New Slang,” the band’s manager asked Healy “should we?”

Dates and tickets for those shows are yet to be announced. However, you can see the band’s arena dates below and grab tickets here.
