The Frightened Rabbit frontman will be remembered at a special concert later this year

Members of The National, Death Cab For Cutie, The Hold Steady, and more will pay tribute to Frightened Rabbit‘s Scott Hutichson at a special concert later this year.

Tiny Changes: A Celebration Of The Songs Of Scott Hutchison will take place at Rough Trade NYC on December 5. Aaron Dessner (The National), Craig Finn (The Hold Steady), Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie), Julien Baker, and Kevin Devine are confirmed to perform. Tickets will go on sale on Friday (November 2) at 12pm ET.

Announcing the event earlier today (October 30), Frightened Rabbit added that all proceeds from the show will go to a newly formed charity named after the late musician. “The Scott Hutchison Fund has been set up in memory of our beloved Scott,” said his brother and bandmate Grant.

“It will form the basis for a Mental Health Charity to be set up fully in the coming months. We hope to be able to help others the way Scott did with kindness, empathy and hope.”

Hutchison died in May when he took his own life following a battle with depression. In the wake of his death, his brother called for more government action to be taken to help prevent suicide.

Speaking to NME last month, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard paid tribute to the musician. “We’ve lost a giant,” he said. “He was such an amazing writer and such an amazing human being. I think it’s been really wonderful to see in the tributes to him how much wider his music had gone than I’d ever really known. This music was as important to these people as it was to me.”

Meanwhile, Frightened Rabbit recently announced their first live performance since Hutchison’s death. They will perform a special show at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand on December 9 as part of the Scotland-wide ‘Sleep In The Park‘ event.

The series aims to raise around £6 million to help combat homelessness and is set to be attended by 12,000 people. You can sign up for it here.
