Music? Festival? Anniversary tour?

Gallows appear to be teasing new material via a short clip shared on their social media channels. Check out the snippet below.

The hardcore punk outfit last released music in 2015 with the album ‘Desolation Sounds’. In a three-and-a-half star review, NME said “the Watford punks embrace aggression and dread”, adding, “We haven’t lost our appetite for what’s still to come.”

Now it seems that the group are preparing to unveil music for their next chapter.

Taking to Twitter, Gallows uploaded a snippet of fuzzy visuals, complete with an unnerving instrumental. The black, white and red clip also depicts the Christian symbol, the Cross of Lorraine. The image was used during their previous two records. A track titled ‘Cross of Lorraine’ was also featured on the band’s 2012 LP.

One fan notes that the announcement could tie in with upcoming Slam Dunk Festival line-up news. Another points out that the band’s second album, ‘Grey Britain’, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2019.

Members of Gallows have embarked on separate projects since their last record. Wade Macneil has been working on an Alexisonfire reunion, with bassist Stuart Gili-Ross running his own record label, Venn Records.

Meanwhile, former Gallows member Frank Carter released his second album as Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes last year. In a five star review, NME said: ‘Modern Ruin’ provides “powerful, personal, and political catharsis”.

Earlier this year, NME hailed Gallows’ ‘Grey Britain’ as one of the best hardcore albums of all time.
