Drake opened up about the ongoing beef on HBO's 'The Shop'

Drake has spoken about his ongoing feuds with Pusha-T and Kanye West in a new interview.

Speaking on LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s HBO show ‘The Shop’, Drake also revealed why he never chose to release a diss track he wrote in response to Pusha-T’s track, ‘The Story of Adidon’.

The feud between Drake and Pusha-T started with a subtle shot Pusha took at Drake on the final track of his recently-released album ‘Daytona’, which prompted a swift response from Drake with the diss track ‘Duppy Freestyle’.

Pusha’s subsequent retort to Drake – ‘The Story Of Adidon’ – set the music world alight, with many people considering Pusha the winner of the beef through the content of the track alone – as well as the controversial artwork, which used an old photo of Drake in blackface.

Speaking about the feud, Drake said on ‘The Shop’ that he recorded a diss track responding to ‘The Story of Adidon’ saying that he said “terrible things” in it. He added: “I listened back to it and I was like, ‘Man, this is not something I ever want to be remembered for. This is not even a place I necessarily want to go.”

Drake also praised Pusha-T for releasing the track: “The song, I thought was trash, but it was a hell of a chess move.”

Drake then also opened up about his ongoing argument with West. Drake detailed that West invited him to Wyoming to work on ‘Life Yourself’ before claiming that West did not reveal he had plans to release an album around the time of his own.

Drake also claimed that Kanye asked him to be “completely transparent” about the release of his next album, ‘Scorpion’, despite not informing him about his own plans. Drake then implied that it was West who revealed the information about his son to Pusha-T.

Drake said: “I’m in Wyoming. I play him March 14. I send him a picture of my son. I tell him I’m having trouble with my son’s mother…I wake up, and all these dates are out. One by one by one. All of them around June 15.”

Back in August, Drake reignited his beef with Kanye during a performance in Chicago where he said “Kayne flopped” during the show.

Earlier in the interview on ‘The Shop’, Drake said: “Rap purists and people who love confrontation, they love to say, “There’s no rules to this shit!” There are fucking rules to this shit. I’m gonna tell you something, I knew something was gonna come up about my kid. They had to add the deadbeat dad thing to make it more appealing, which is fine. The mom and dad thing… Whatever. You don’t even know my family.”

He added: “But wishing death upon my friend who has MS… I study rap battles for a living. When you mention defenseless people who are sick in the hospital, who have passed away, I just believe that there’s a price you have to pay for that. It’s over! Someone’s gonna fucking punch you in the fucking face. The shit’s done, the event’s over. I wanted to do other things. I didn’t want to further your career by rapping back to you and having this exchange.”

Pusha-T has already said that he considered his beef with Drake to be over. He said: “These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over…It’s all over with… I’m ready to be back to the music for real. Just feeding my base, that’s it. That’s the most important thing to me at all times.”

Earlier this year, Drake’s mentor J. Prince made the claim that the Toronto rapper had been ready to respond to ‘The Story Of Adidon’ until he was advised against escalating the beef – with the diss track in question apparently featuring lyrics which could’ve been “career-ending” for Kanye West.
