Oasis will reform because of “not great” solo careers, says Robbie Williams
 Add to favorites

"The most successful thing they can do is a reunion. I think they’ll both need to do it.”

An Oasis reformation is inevitable, says Robbie Williams, who doubts that either Liam or Noel Gallagher‘s solo careers will last.

As The Sun reports, the former Take That singer believes that the warring brothers will be prompted to reform almost a decade after their split because “they’ll both need to do it.”

He said: “Liam Gallagher has just come back and he’s done pretty well. He had a platinum record with his solo album and I think that’s what everybody was waiting for. I think the next time he releases an album it won’t do as well. Noel’s album didn’t do too good either. I think it sold like 70,000 copies or something, which for Noel isn’t great.”

Despite the fact that both of the Gallaghers’ most recent solo records reached the top of the albums chart, Williams believes they’ll join forces again out of necessity.

“If they’re anything like me, which I think they are, they will want to be doing the most successful thing they can do, and the most successful thing they can do is a reunion. I think they’ll both need to do it.”

It reignites a long-running feud between Robbie Williams and the Gallaghers. He famously challenged Liam to a fight at the 2000 Brit Awards, and told Noel to “kiss my perfectly formed backside” onstage in 2010. The brothers responded in kind, with Liam calling him “a fat fucking idiot” in 2013, and Noel referring to him as “the fat dancer from Take That.”

As for Williams’ own chances of reforming his former group, last year he indicated that he’d “probably be in” for a full Take That reunion, should all five original members agree.

Williams’ Oasis prediction just might come true sooner rather than later. Last week Liam tweeted his brother, suggesting they reform the legendary group.

“Earth to noel listen up rkid I hear your doing gigs where people can’t drink alcohol now that’s the BeZarist thing you’ve done yet,” Liam wrote.

“I forgive you now let’s get the BIG O back together and stop fucking about the drinks are on me LG x”

That said, those comments came shortly after Liam hit out at his “miserable” 51-year-old sibling after England lost to Croatia in the World Cup semi-final.

His tirade followed a clip posted online that showed Noel responding to his fans who sang along to ‘Three Lions’.

Noel told the crowd as chants of “it’s coming home” rang out during a show in Scarborough: “It’s fucking not”.
