The singer was performing at Glasgow Green when he had to halt his performance due to an issue caused by the pyrotechnics

Bruno Mars was forced to leave the stage during his show in Glasgow last night (July 10) after a fire scare.

The ’24K Magic’ singer was performing at Glasgow Green when the incident occurred, with Mars evacuating the stage after playing ‘Perm’.

On-stage pyrotechnics were to blame for the interruption, with a small fire reportedly taking hold of part of the lighting rig. The flames were brought under control after eight minutes, with screens either side of the stage telling fans that “it is necessary to stop the show temporarily”.

Mars returned to the stage swiftly after the fire was put out, where he then made light of the situation by singing an improvised chorus of “We burned the stage down in Glasgow“.

A spokesperson for DF Concerts explained more about the fire following the gig.

“During the Bruno Mars show, there was an incident involving one of the stage lights meaning the show was stopped temporarily.

“Thanks to the quick thinking of our stage team who assessed the situation, this incident was quickly responded to, allowing the show to continue safely.”

Mars will play at BST Hyde Park in London on Saturday (July 14).
