"Go on Kane! Go on Maguire!"

Justin Timberlake has thrown his support behind England’s quest for World Cup glory.

Tomorrow, the Three Lions will take on Croatia, with victory assuring them of a place in Sunday’s World Cup final in Moscow.

But while the whole nation already knows that it’s coming home, it seems that Justin Timberlake has come to that inevitable realisation too.

As he appeared at the O2 Arena last night, the singer was heard to say “it’s coming home”, before opening up on his support for England.

“Somebody told me that the first time I came here I became an honorary Brit. So, it’s….coming…..home.

“Go on Kane! Go on Maguire!”

He added: “Sorry! I thought I was out there for a second. Seriously, we love you. On behalf of the Tennessee kids, you always show us so much love.”

Timberlake will return to the O2 Arena for a second show tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, it’s expected that ‘Three Lions’ will top the charts on Friday, after England’s success in Russia led to renewed popularity for the song.

After streams of both the 1996 and 1998 versions of the track achieved a record amount of one-day streams as England beat Colombia in the Second Round last week, the side’s subsequent victory over Sweden on Saturday – combined with the overall World Cup fever which is sweeping the nation – has now put ‘Three Lions’ on course to reach the top spot on the chart.

According to The Official Charts, the Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds track is at number one on the mid-week charts – thanks to 24,000 downloads and 2.6 million audio streams since last Friday (July 6).

Yesterday, George Ezra – who was last week’s number one – also urged fans to get ‘Three Lions’ to the top spot, deseating his own track ‘Shotgun’ in the process
