The first full band performance of the track

Radiohead performed their unused Bond theme ‘Spectre’ live for first time in Chicago last night (July 7).

Radiohead kicked off their latest run of US dates at Chicago’s United Center on Friday, treating fans to two shows at the Chicago venue.

Last night’s show saw them perform ‘Spectre’ live as a full band after Thom Yorke previously performed the track solo. You can see fan-shot footage of the performance below.

Friday night’s show saw the band perform ‘Blow Out’ live for the first time in 10 years.

The song is taken from their 1993 debut ‘Pablo Honey‘ and was last performed by the band when they played in Tokyo in 2008.

Meanwhile, guitarist Jonny Greenwood is part of the supporting act for Radiohead’s US tour, as part of Junun. The opening group consists of Greenwood, Israeli Shye Ben Tzur and Indian ensemble Rajasthan Express.

Earlier this year, Greenwood revealed who in the band is the “hardest”. “It’s not a very strong field.

“Having said that, Ed [O’Brien, guitarist] had boxing training – he was sparring with the head of our concert security on the last tour – so he’s probably quite tasty. But also the most placatory and pacific of all of us.

“I reckon Philip [Selway, drummer] would be pretty handy if he had his wild up with someone,” Greenwood continued. “Unlikely, but still, don’t push him. The rest of us are… not a threat.”

The tour runs until August 1 when it concludes at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Along the way, Radiohead will play four nights at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
