The tribute will take place during this weekend's festival, which will be located at Finsbury Park in north London

A minute’s silence will be observed at Wireless Festival this weekend to remember the people who have lost their lives to street violence.

The festival, which will take place from tomorrow (July 6) through to Sunday (July 8), will be held in Finsbury Park, north London. J. Cole, Stormzy and DJ Khaled are set to headline the three nights of the festival.

Wireless have teamed up with Project Future, Bruce Grove Youth Space and Haringey Council for this year’s festival to run the #TimeToStop initiative, which is aiming to tackle violence in the capital and “give a voice to the youth of London”.

A minute’s silence to remember the victims of street violence will also be held at one point this weekend as part of the #TimeToStop campaign. The exact timing of the period of remembrance has yet to be confirmed.

Speaking about the campaign, Haringey Council’s cabinet member for Communities, Safety and Engagement Mark Blake said: “Haringey’s communities have been torn apart by grief this year following the needless killings of young people on our streets. It has to stop.

“That’s why I’m so proud to see young people from the borough leading the #TimeToStop campaign, which will see people showcasing their love of London and hopes for ending the violence. I hope many more young Londoners will get involved.”

In other Wireless news, J Hus was removed from the festival’s line-up this week following his recent arrest and charge for “suspicion of being in possession of a knife or bladed article”.
