New album 'High As Hope' was released last week

Florence And The Machine have announced an intimate last-minute gig to take place tonight (July 4).

The group’s fourth album ‘High As Hope‘ was released last week (June 29). In a three-star review, NME said: “More organic and natural, this is Florence laid bare. The only thing holding it back is a lack of risk, but there’s still so much comfort in the familiar.”

Posting on the band’s official Instagram page, they shared a photo of a billboard for the record, which features lyrics from the song ‘South London Forever’. “Young and drunk/And stumbling in the street/Outside the Joiners Arms/Like foals unsteady on their feet,” it reads.

The accompanying caption revealed that the Joiners Arms would be the location for “an intimate performance” at 6:30pm tonight, to celebrate the release of ‘High As Hope’. “Entry is 16+ and on a first come first serve basis and limited capacity,” it read. Entry is £5 with the money going to the charity South London Cares.

Florence Welch recently revealed her regrets over her relationship with her sister, which she wrote about in new song ‘Grace’. Speaking to Radio X, she said of the song: “I played it to her. I didn’t tell her [it’s about her] cos we’re English and we don’t really tell each other we love each other. We make jokes.

“But I played it to her and she cried. And we had a really chaotic upbringing and I had a lot of problems with booze and drugs and everything that you could name.”
