Rumours of more projects have been surfacing

Kanye West has reportedly announced that he wants to create “52 albums in 52 weeks”.

The rapper released his latest album ‘ye’ earlier this month and features contributions from the likes of Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and CyHi The Prynce, amongst others.

Now in a new chat with The New York Times’ Jon Caramanica on his ‘Popcast’ podcast, West reportedly told the journalist that he wants to release more projects.

He told me at one point he wants to make 52 records in 52 weeks,” Caramanica said. “Take that for what you will.” You can listen to him say that at the 48:30 mark here.

It’s not clear how serious West is about the claim, or whether it would be his own albums or albums he would produce – like last month’s Pusha-T album ‘Daytona’.

The album marked the first release in West’s G.O.O.D. Music projects and was recorded in rural Wyoming, which Pusha-T described as “a very rehab type of feel”.

Meanwhile, West has been accused of not clearing a sample for a song he produced for Teyana Taylor’s new album.

The Numero Group has claimed that ‘K.T.S.E.’ uses a sample featured on their 2010 Boddie Recording Company box set that was never cleard for use.

Taylor’s song ‘Issues/Hold On’ uses that sample, which is a cover of Billy Stewart’s 1965 single ‘I Do Love You’ (the artist who recorded the cover is unknown).

Numero Group’s co-founder Rob Sevier said that West and Taylor needed to get the sample cleared – but representatives for the two artists are still yet to get in touch with the label.
