The pop star was performing in Denver when she tearfully walked off stage

Dua Lipa was forced to cancel a gig after three songs last night (June 26) due to fears she could permanently damage her hearing.

The star is currently on tour in the US and was performing at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium when she had to stop the show.

According to the Sun, Lipa broke down in tears as she told fans: “I really tried to push through for this show, I wanted to give you guys a really good show. I feel so bad for letting you guys down because I can’t possibly or physically do it and this is not the kind of show I want to give you guys.”

She continued to apologise, saying,” So I’m so, so, so sorry, but I’m not going to continue tonight. I will be back. I’m so sorry. Thank you so much.”

Later, the singer explained why she had had to pull the show in more detail via Twitter. “I’m so very sorry to have had to stopped tonight’s show,” she wrote. “I’ve had an ear infection for the last couple of days. I thought I would be able to pull through, but it was quite painful and I was advised that if I carried on I could cause permanent damage to my ear.

“I feel so sad to have disappointed you guys,” she added. “I really wanted to make it through the show for you. Please hold on to your tickets, I am working on rescheduling the show.”

Lipa is due to perform in San Diego on Friday (June 29) and San Francisco on Saturday.

Meanwhile, her father is putting on his own music festival in her hometown of Prishtina, Kosova this summer. Lipa will headline Sunnyhill Festival alongside Action Bronson and a to-be-announced DJ.
