The group will play London's SSE Arena in Wembley in November

Catfish and the Bottlemen have announced that they will play London’s SSE Arena in Wembley later this year.

The quartet will play the arena on November 2; tickets for the event go on sale this Friday (June 28).

The band are also appearing at two summer outdoor gigs at Cardiff Castle in July and Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park in August as well as Benicassim.

The Welsh band, who released their second album ‘The Ride’ in May 2016, were the subject of rumours last year that they were splitting up, with the band taking to Twitter to deny the claims; representatives clarifified to NME that the rumours were not true.

Last year, frontman Van McCann told Newsbeat: “The end of the year is when we’re supposed to start recording but I think we’ll be done by then.”

He added: “I don’t know when we’ll be allowed but we’re ready to go, I’ve got the songs.”

“We’d release an album every six months if we could but you’ve got to take them around the world and stick to the schedule.”
