Is football coming home?

Stars of the entertainment world have reacted optimistically about England’s World Cup chances after today’s (June 24) victory over Panama.

The national team won 6-1 in Russia earlier today, with a hat trick from Harry Kane, two goals from John Stones, and another from Jesse Lingard.

England have one more game in the group stages to go and will play Belgium on Thursday (June 28). They will then go on to the quarter-finals, where they will play either the runner-up or winner of Group H, depending on where they finish.

Responding to the victory today, Liam Gallagher tweeted the simple statement: “It’s coming home.” Wolf Alice, meanwhile, have changed their name on Twitter to “Harry Kane the band.”

Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher reportedly refused to be booked to headline Isle Of Wight tonight because of the World Cup. The former Oasis frontman topped the bill last night instead so he could enjoy England’s match today.
