A man has been confirmed dead at Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.

The festival’s 17th edition began yesterday (June 7). It will be headlined by Eminem, The Killers, and Muse, while the likes of Paramore, Dua Lipa, Future, Rag’n’Bone Man, Alt-J and more will also perform.

According to reports from festival organisers, a 35-year-old man was found unresponsive in his car this morning. Festival-goers contacted the medical team in the Plaza 6 camping area and asked them to assist the man. He was later pronounced dead by the Coffee County Medical Examiner’s office.

No cause of death has been determined at present. Festival organisers said the man’s car was running and the heat was on. Local ABC affiliate WKRN reports the man has been identified as Michael Craddock Jr. from Mt. Juliet. According to the news station, his body has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy.

A spokesperson for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department said the case was under investigation, but foul play is not suspected in the death.

In a statement, Bonnaroo organisers said: “The safety of our patrons is our highest priority and our sympathies go out to his family and friends.” It is the first death at the festival since 2015.
