Earl Sweatshirt has cancelled all of the remaining dates on his current European tour – an announcement which was made just hours before his scheduled slot at Field Day in London yesterday (June 2).

The former Odd Future rapper was due to perform at 2:10pm at the Brockwell Park-based festival on its second day, but Field Day organisers confirmed to festivalgoers that Earl had pulled out of the gig on the day.

‘We are really sad to inform you that Earl Sweatshirt has had to cancel all European appearances at short notice, which includes Field Day today,’ the organisers tweeted yesterday morning, adding that they were “gutted”.

Earl was due to play at Dublin’s Forbidden Fruit Festival today (June 3), before another gig next weekend at Manchester’s Parklife Festival.

Earl has yet to comment on the cancellation of the tour.

The rapper last released a solo album over three years ago with his second full-length LP ‘I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside’ in March 2015.

Earl’s father, the prominent South African poet Keorapetse Kgositsile, passed away in January at the age of 79. The rapper cancelled a string of dates in the wake of Kgositsile’s passing.
