Stormzy has revealed that he’s working on his second album and that progress on it is “going really well” so far.

The London MC released his debut ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ in February 2017. Reviewing the album, NME‘s Jordan Bassett wrote at the time: “The south London grime don delivers a knockout debut that’s brash and pensive in equal measure”.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Ivor Novello awards earlier today (Thursday, May 31), Stormzy confirmed: “I’m working on my second album now. It’s going really well, I’d like to think.”

Asked what the album was sounding like and whether he could reveal any special guests, Stormzy replied: “I will not reveal anything. You’ll just hear it, then we’ll go from there.”

Stormzy is among the nominees for this afternoon’s Ivor Novello awards. He’s up for Best Contemporary Song for his track ‘Don’t Cry For Me’ and the Album Award for ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’.
