Cardi B thought Childish Gambino and Donald Glover were two different people

Cardi B has let slip that she thought Donald Glover and his musical moniker Childish Gambino were two different people.

In a now-deleted tweet, the ‘Invasion of Privacy‘ rapper wrote: ‘It’s amazing how Donald Glover and Childish Gambino look soo much alike. I think they secretly the same person!!! Soo dope!!’.

Three minutes later, she tweeted: ‘Wait, I’m confuse now’.

Cardi is well known for her online trolling, but the fact she deleted her initial tweet suggests she genuinely didn’t realise they were the same person.

If, before today, you were positive that Cardi B understood that Donald Glover and Childish Gambino are the same person, then you might want to take a seat…

However, she’s not the only one slow on the uptake – Twitter users have been sharing their moments of realisation.

I’m at work minding my business & my coworker asks me if I know Donald Glover. I said yes & he proceeds to ask doesn’t he look like Childish Gambino. I thought he was kidding, but he really didn’t know they were the same person lmao

The movie hasn't started yet but there's no way any part of Solo is going to be better than the guy LOSING HIS MIND outside the theater realizing Childish Gambino and Donald Glover are the same person

When I was really young, about 3, I thought Billy Dee Williams was the most talented man alive having played Lando & being Ray Parker Jr doing Ghostbusters, which I was later sad to learn wasn't the case. My kids get @donaldglover and Childish Gambino as the same person though.

One user thought they’d throw a conspiracy theory into the mix:

What if Childish Gambino and Donald Glover were actually twins and they been playing us thinking it’s the same person? ????????

Meanwhile, Cardi recently defended collaborator Rita Ora for her single, ‘Girls’, a track they both performed with Charli XCX and Bebe Rexha.

The song was labelled ‘problematic’ for the queer community as it suggests girls only kiss other girls when they’re drunk.

It faced backlash from the LGBTQ+ community, with Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani calling it ‘downright tone-deaf’.

Rita Ora responded to criticism, saying the track was: ‘written to represent my truth and is an accurate account of a very real and honest experience in my life. I have had romantic relationships with women and men throughout my life and this is my personal journey.’

Charli XCX recently broke her silence on the uproar, accusing critics of outing Ora and questioning why her story is less valid than other bisexual people.

Wanting to move on from the incident in a positive way, she said: “I just really want to learn from this situation…we can all learn from this conversation.”
