Meek Mill confirms his beef with Drake is over
 Add to favorites

Meek Mill has said that both he and Drake have “moved past” their beef, adding that he appreciated his former foe backing a campaign for his release from jail.

The Philly rapper was released from jail last month following a lengthy campaign that saw many high-profile figures offering their support.

Despite previously engaging in a feud with Mill and exchanging diss tracks back and forth during 2015 after being accused of using a ghostwriter, Drake voiced his support for Meek’s plight late last year.

Speaking this week on US radio show The Breakfast Club, Meek Mill said that while he hasn’t spoken to Drake since his release, he believes the pair wouldn’t have any problems in the future.

“He put good energy in the air,” Meek said of Drake’s support. “What happened happened. We moved past that. I think we’ll have a conversation next time we see each other, and get it going”.

Asked whether he felt like Drake wanted to make amends, Meek replied: “I don’t feel like he wants to, it’s just like, as grown men… how long should this be going on? I’m still standing on my feet. He’s still standing on his feet.”

Mill also conceded defeat some what in the pair’s online-focused beef, saying: “I was just trying to figure out the internet. That’s a whole new world to me… It confused me. I stepped into a world where I didn’t know how to handle it the way I usually handle it.”

He also said that he has “no problem” with Nicki Minaj following their break-up last year. Minaj recently said that the Meek/Drake beef was “one of the hardest parts” of her career.

Meek Mill was released from jail on April 24, after a lengthy legal battle spanning months.

The Supreme Court of PA made the decision, overruling the original decision made by Judge Genece Brinkley, who was heavily criticised for sentencing the rapper to a minimum of two years in state prison back in November 2017.

The sentence was for violating his probation related to gun and drug-related convictions in 2007. He was originally arrested for his involvement in a fight at St. Louis airport (the charges were later dropped), and for reckless driving in New York.
