Guns N’ Roses announce deluxe reissue of ‘Appetite For Destruction’

It looks like Guns N’ Roses are set to release a deluxe reissue of their seminal 1987 album ‘Appetite For Destruction’

The iconic record, which celebrates its 31st anniversary later this year, contains classic tracks ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘It’s So Easy’, ‘Paradise City’ and ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’. Fans are speculating that a big announcement due on Friday (May 4) will confirm a world tour around the album milestone.

Earlier this week, the band launched a countdown timer on their official website, with a clock counting down to Friday Midnight EST. However, an unboxing video – which has since been removed from YouTube – appears to prematurely reveal the contents of a brand new deluxe reissue of ‘Appetite For Destruction’ from the band.

It also seems likely that Guns N’ Roses will be announcing some sort of reunion tour later this week. Billboards featuring all five original members from the 1987 ‘Appetite’ line-up have been spotted around London. The band’s official website displays a map that could well point towards an upcoming world tour.

As Consequence of Sound reports, the unpacking video reveals that the new release is a almighty 73 tracks long, with 49 of them being previously unreleased songs. A new version of the album, remastered from the original analog tapes for ‘Appetite For Destruction’, will be presented across two LPs, and the package will also contain a pressing of Guns N’ Roses’ 1986 EP ‘Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide’. A second EP will contain various b-sides from the era. Unreleased recordings from the band’s 1986 Sound City sessions will also feature, along with a further two unreleased tracks made with their producer Mike Clink.

On top of that, an extra super deluxe reissue will additionally contain a 96-page hand-bound book of unreleased photographs from Axl Rose’s archive, 12 new illustration lithos corresponding to individual tracks on ‘Appetite For Destruction’, and replica memorabilia.

Guns N’ Roses are set to headline Download Festival alongside Avenged Sevenfold and Ozzy Osbourne. The festival takes place at Donington Park from Friday 8 – Sunday 10 June. Visit here for tickets and more information.
