Ariana Grande has confirmed that her new album will be called ‘Sweetener’ and will be released at some point in the summer.

The singer recently released her first song since the bombing at her Manchester Arena concert, ‘No Tears Left To Cry’.

“My album is coming this summer,” Grande confirmed last night (May 1) on The Tonight Show, telling host Jimmy Fallon that she worked with Pharrell on the record.

“It was a really awesome experience,” she added. “It is called ‘Sweetener’… because it’s kind of about bringing light to a situation or to someone’s life or somebody else bringing light to your life, sweetening the situation.”

Ariana confirmed that song titles include tracks called ‘R.E.M’, ‘The Light Is Coming’, ‘God Is A Woman’ and ‘Raindrops’.

Grande made a surprise appearance at the second weekend of Coachella (April 20), dropping into Kygo’s set to perform ‘No Tears Left To Cry’. She also treated the Californian audience to a cover of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Sexual Healing’ – a track that has been remixed by Kygo in the past.

Speaking earlier this year, Grande’s manager Scooter Braun explained the huge emotional toll that the Manchester attack had on the singer. “When she found out that fans of hers had died, she was… so sad,” Braun revealed during an appearance on the Big Questions with Carl Fussman podcast.

“She cried for days, she felt everything – every face they announced, every name, she wore on her sleeve. Every bit of emotion because that’s who she is. And the thing I will always remember is that she goes, ‘If I don’t do something, I’m not who I say I am to these people.’”
