Florence + The Machine will play a trio of UK shows next month (May) before supporting The Rolling Stones in London.

It was announced earlier this week that Florence Welch and band will support The Rolling Stones at London Stadium on May 25. Other opening acts for the band’s UK tour include Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft.

Following the release of comeback single ‘Sky Full Of Song’, Florence + The Machine have now announced that they will play gigs in Halifax, Scunthorpe and London.

Welch and co will play Halifax’s Victoria Theatre on May 5, Scunthorpe’s Baths Hall on May 6 and London’s Royal Festival Hall on May 8. Tickets will go on sale at 10am on April 27.

Florence + The Machine’s new track ‘Sky Full Of Song’ is their first since 2015 album ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’.

“This was a song that just fell out of the sky fully formed,” Florence Welch said of the track.

“Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it’s hard to know how to come down. There is this feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly outwards and upwards, and wanting somebody to hold you still, bring you back to yourself. It’s an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling.”

Rumours suggest that the new album could be called ‘High As Hope’ and will be released on June 29.
