Thom Yorke brings back original acoustic version of Radiohead’s ‘True Love Waits’

This weekend saw Thom Yorke bring back the original acoustic version of ‘True Love Waits’ at a Radiohead gig for the first time in 15 years.

The song has been a fan favourite and dates back around two decades, having regularly aired at Radiohead shows. While the track ended up on their acclaimed 2016 album ‘A Moon Shaped Pool‘, it was a more minimal piano-led version – with the band performing the latter incarnation on subsequent tours.

While Yorke has occasionally rolled out it out at solo shows over the last decade, this weekend’s show at Soundhearts Festival in Rio De Janeiro was the first time that he played the original acoustic version with Radiohead since 2003. Check it out below.

This tour has seen also Thom Yorke stun fans with an unplanned a capella performance of ‘The Gloaming‘.

Radiohead will also play more dates in South America throughout April before hitting North America in the summer. Meanwhile, guitarist Ed O’Brien is also set to release a solo album, while Thom Yorke recently announcing a UK and European solo tour. Not only that, but Colin Greenwood recently lent bass duties to newcomer Tamino on the track ‘Indigo Night‘.

Radiohead’s legal battle with Lana Del Rey over the similarities between her song ‘Get Free’ and their seminal single ‘Creepy’ has also reportedly come to and end.
