Two of R Kelly’s “inner circle” resign amid star’s sexual misconduct allegations
 Add to favorites

Two members of R Kelly‘s team have reportedly resigned following recent sexual misconduct allegations facing the star.

In March, the R&B performer was accused of grooming a 14 year-old girl to be his sex “pet” in a BBC documentary. Then, earlier this month, Dallas police confirmed they were investigating claims that Kelly gave a woman a STD and plied her with drugs and alcohol when she was 19.

Now a new BBC report suggests that Kelly’s “inner circle” are “deserting” him after two high-profile female members of his staff resigned.

The report states that Diana Copeland, Kelly’s executive assistant for over 10 years, and Linda Mensch, his entertainment attorney for the past four years, have both resigned from their roles.

The BBC also “understands from a source in Mr Kelly’s camp that further long-standing members of staff intend to leave him”.

A representative for R Kelly recently stated that the star “categorically denies all claims and allegations” of sexual misconduct.

Last month, Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff said that he “hopes” R Kelly gets dropped by their label, claiming that he had asked them to part ways with the controversial star “a number of times”.

Antonoff is signed to RCA Records, the same Sony subsidiary as Kelly. He tweeted on March 28: “I hope my label drops R. Kelly. I’ve discussed it with him them a number of times”. His tweet was later deleted.
