Ed Sheeran slams rumours that he’s building a wall around his house ‘to keep out homeless people’

Ed Sheeran has slammed a story reported by the Sun that suggested he was building railings around his house to keep out people experiencing homelessness.

The original report claimed that the singer-songwriter was planning to build a five-foot set of railings in front of London house to ‘keep out the homeless’.

Sheeran has since responded to the story on Instagram referencing his past work with the charities Shelter and Crisis – both of which work to end homelessness.

“Dear Natalie Edwards from the Sun newspaper. Your story is bollocks, I have done lots of work in the past for crisis and shelter and would never build railings outside my home for that reason.” Sheeran wrote.

“The reason was to keep the paps that you employ from being on my doorstep. Have a good day”.

Meanwhile, Sheeran was recently mistaken for Prince Harry on a commemorative plate. The souvenir plate is on sale on the online marketplace Etsy, and was spotted by former royal chef Darren McGrady. “Loving all the #PrinceHarry and #MeghanMarkle memorabilia,” he tweeted. “Just think some companies should do a little more research first.”

This isn’t Ed Sheeran’s first run-in with royalty. Back in 2016, the musician claimed that Princess Beatrice cut him across the face when she was pretending to knight James Blunt during a party at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

There have also been reports that Sheeran is performing at the Royal Wedding.
