Florence + The Machine have shared a new song, called ‘Sky Full Of Song’.

The track is their first since 2015 album ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’. It was previously rumoured that the lead track from the follow-up would be released today (April 12).

The sparse but typically elegant ‘Sky Full Of Song’ is accompanied by an artful black and white video. In the song, Florence Welch sings, “I want you so bad, but you could be anyone.” Watch it below.

It’s been claimed that Florence has been working on the new record with Brett Shaw, who produced 2015’s ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’. As discovered by Spanish music blog Binaural, the official website of London’s Miloco Studios claims that Shaw spent a large part of 2017 working on the record.

“Brett has spent 2017 recording the upcoming Florence And The Machine Album at 123 studios and out in L.A.”, the official biography for Shaw states. Binaural has also shared a birthday note from Florence to Shaw which is dated as January 2017 – suggesting that the new record has been in development for well over a year.

Welch teased her return last year by announcing festival appearances for 2018. As well as Orange Warsaw Festival, she will take her band to Germany’s Melt! Festival in July. She will also play Bilbao’s BBK Festival between 12-14 July.
