Harry Styles’ audience turned into giant LGBTQ flag at London show

Fans at Harry Styles‘ London show last night (April 11) transformed into a giant LGBTQ flag.

The former One Direction singer was performing at The O2 arena in support of his self-titled debut album.

During ‘Sweet Creature’, the room was lit up by the lights from fans’ camera phones, but each section of the venue took on a different colour of the rainbow. Styles reportedly had no idea of the plans to create the stunning display, with two fans claiming responsibility.

Ksenia, 17, and Luna, 20, said they put together 14,000 pieces of paper with instructions on what to do and coloured paper to distribute to the crowd. Dubbing the plan the “Rainbow H Project”, they said it took three months to put into action, and required a team of 20 fans to get the paper packets given out around the entire arena.

“In October 2017 we suggested we do a project for Harry during the London shows and we came up with an idea of creating a massive Pride flag,” they told Metro. “We counted how many seats there are in each row in each block so everyone would get a colour. I have personally done 14,000 of those small instructions with colours.”

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE YESTERDAY HAPPEN????❤ We did had some issues as some of you noticed as some security wasn't too fond of bringing the papers in BUT we still made it and are gonna figure it out for today to make it happen again BIGGER AND BETTER

Love, Luna & Ksenia

They claimed security confiscated 5,000 pieces of paper from two of their team. Despite this, they are planning to do the same at Styles’ gig tonight (April 12).

“Can I just take a second to tell you that every single one of you in this building looks absolutely fabulous,” he told the audience as the show began. “I’ve lived in London for about seven years now and I very much feel like I’m coming home now. Thank you for being so welcoming to us.”

Earlier this week, Styles paid emotional tribute to the victims of last year’s Manchester Arena terror attack as he played the same venue (April 9). He addressed the tragedy during his concert, playing a song in tribute to the 22 people killed as they left Ariana Grande’s show last year.
