The 11-year-old boy who set the internet alight after he was filmed yodelling in Walmart has made his debut TV performance on Ellen.

Mason Ramsey, from Golconda, Illinois, became a viral sensation last week after a video emerged of the youngster singing in his local Walmart store.

The clip spawned countless memes, as well as videos that saw people putting their own unique spin on Ramsey’s unique talents.

Now, he’s appeared on the Ellen Show for the first time, where he delivered his now infamous cover of Hank Williams Sr.’s ‘Lovesick Blues’.

When asked if he was enjoying his first trip to Los Angeles, Ramsey replied: “Yeah, but I’m a country boy.

“And out in the old country, all we do is bale straws of hay, and next thing you know you’re sittin’ under a tree takin’ a nap with your hat down and a weed in your mouth.”

After the performance, Ellen then surprised Mason by giving him the chance to perform at the Grand Ole Opry, a weekly US country concert that has been broadcast since 1925.

Walmart also agreed to pay $15,000 towards his college costs in future.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Mason is directly responsible for a massive rise in Hank Williams’ Spotify streams – with ‘Lovesick Blues’ rising by 2452% globally on Spotify.

The song is climbing up Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart – despite being released nearly 70 years ago.
