“Nice one” – Slaves confirm that their new album is “done”

Slaves have confirmed that the recording of their new album is “done” – less than a month after they entered the studio.

The Royal Tunbridge Wells duo told fans last month that they were recording the follow-up to their second studio album ‘Take Control’ – which was released in September 2016 – in the coming weeks, saying that they “couldn’t wait” to share the new songs with their fans.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (April 7), Slaves posted a picture of themselves outside a studio – apparently located in the Belgian capital Brussels – looking exhausted on two seats.

“Album done sun’s out nice one cheers xxxxxxxx” read the accompanying caption – check out the picture below.

Previous posts on Instagram have suggested that Slaves were recording 16 tracks for the forthcoming new album. One post showed a whiteboard which charted the progress of each track’s recording, although the names of the songs had been deliberately cut off.

Back in January, Slaves launched their own record label – which goes by the name Girl Fight.

A statement from Girl Fight read: “The label has been launched by Slaves as a way of them being able to support the bands and the music that they love, by-passing the convoluted nature of big record labels and focussing on the nitty gritty.

“Girl Fight aims to be about great bands, big tunes and a DIY ethic inherited from the band’s punk rock roots.”
