Mark Lanegan upset by how Eagles Of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes has ‘gone off the rails’

Mark Lanegan has spoken out to Jesse Hughes – revealing how upset he is “by how far off the rails” he has gone.

The Eagles Of Death Metal frontman made headlines this week when he sparked controversy after he slammed the students protesting for stricter gun control in the ‘March For Our Lives‘ as ‘pathetic and disgusting’.

Referring to the Bataclan terror attack at which 89 people lost their lives at an EODM show, Hughes wrote: “As the survivor of a mass shooting I can tell you from first-hand experience that all of you protesting and taking days off from school insult the memory of those who were killed and abuse and insult me and every other lover of liberty by your every action.”

Now friend and Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan, who moves in similar circles due to his association with Josh Homme, has taken to Twitter to openly lament Hughes’ actions and behaviour.

“When I think of the good times we’ve had in the past, it fucks with my heart to see how far off the rails you’ve gone,” he wrote in a Tweet addressed to Hughes. “Come back bro.”

Defending Hughes’ character but standing firm on his beliefs, Lanegan added: “I know Jesse to be a guy who would give you the shirt off his back. Not someone who’d attack someone for their opinions that differ from his.”

@jesseEODM. When I think of the good times we've had in the past it fucks my heart to see how far off the rails you've gone. Come back bro

Hughes also wrote: “The Whitney Houston song about letting the children lead the way wasn’t actually had operating paradigm for life and when the truth don’t line up with your bullshit narrative just hold your breath and stamp your feet and refused to except it…then take multiple days off of school playing hooky at the expense of 16 of your classmates blood. It might be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic and disgusting…”

He added: “Long Live Rock’n’Roll… and may everyone of these disgusting vile abusers of the dead live as long as possible so they can have the maximum amount of time to endure their shame… and be cursed…”

In the string of controversial message, which have since been deleted, Hughes also called out Parkland survivor and activist Emma Gonzales – by sharing a photoshopped image of her tearing up the American Constitution and accusing her of “treason”.
