Seo Minwoo, the lead singer of K-pop boyband 100% has passed away at the age of 33.

As his record label TOP Media reports, the Korean singer was found unresponsive at his home in Gangnam, Seoul, following a cardiac arrest.

“His family, the 100% members, and the TOP Media artists and staff members are all grief-stricken and in mourning from the unexpected, sad news,” said a label spokesman.

They went on to describe him as a “warm-hearted” man and an artist who deeply loved his fans.

The singer had been a member of the successful K-pop band since 2012, as well as pursuing a career in acting and appearing on reality TV.

The band first rose to fame with their debut EP ‘We, 100%’ – featuring single ‘Bad Boy’. The band soon attracted a huge fan base throughout Asia and K-pop fans around the world, renowned for covering a wide variety of musical styles of singles including ‘Want U Back’ and ‘Sketch U’.

Together, they have released four EPs, four ‘single albums’ and nine singles – with ‘Song For You’ released just last month in Japan.

The Korea Herald reports that the band are due to perform shows in Japan in April, but it remains unconfirmed as to whether these shows will go head.

The boyband were the second to be produced by Andy from the longest-running K-Pop band, Shinhwa, who this weekend celebrated their 20th anniversary.
