The 1975 have teased their live return, telling fans when to expect tour dates to be announced.

The band are expected to release third album ‘Music For Cars’ this summer. The record is presumed to be arriving on June 1, following several tweets from frontman Matty Healy featuring the title and date.

After a fan tweeted at the group and their manager Jamie Oborne asking them to announce tour dates, the latter responded: “We won’t be releasing tour news until the summer. I would say around August just so you have a chance to plan.”

During The 1975’s headline set at Latitude Festival last year, Healy announced when the band would be next on the road. “We’ll be back on tour in October 2018,” he said.

Meanwhile, fans are speculating that the four-piece may be getting ready to return with new music imminently after the band deleted months of posts from social media.

Prior to announcing their second record ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It‘, the band went through a social media blackout, deleting all posts before returning with a new “pink identity”. Fans are hopeful that they may be poised to do the same again, having deleted all Twitter and Instagram posts since July.

Healy has previously explained the title of the new album to NME, saying: “‘Music For Cars’ was an EP named for our love for Brian Eno. We’re using it as the album title now because of how meta and self-referential everything has become in the world of The 1975, and ‘Music For Cars’ was always my favourite title of everything we’d ever done, so it kinda made sense to wrap it up that way.”
