Jack White has shared a new song, ‘Ice Station Zebra’ – a track which was originally written a few years ago during scrapped album sessions with Jay-Z.

The former White Stripes frontman is set to release his third solo studio album ‘Boarding House Reach’ on Friday (March 23). White has already previewed the tracks ‘Connected By Love’, ‘Respect Commander’ and ‘Over and Over and Over’ in the lead-up to this week’s big release date.

‘Ice Station Zebra’ will also feature on ‘Boarding House Reach’, and White has today (March 21) released that track ahead of the arrival of his latest solo LP. The song has origins in a scrapped joint album project that White embarked on with Jay-Z a few years ago.

“A couple years ago I had worked on a few tracks with Jay Z — we were going to do an album together, it just never culminated and we didn’t finish,” White recently explained. “But this was something I played drums, piano guitar, and bass on as an idea for him to maybe spur him on to inspire him and do something.”

Listen to ‘Ice Station Zebra’ below.

Earlier today, White was confirmed as one of the headliners at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival.
