Last month, two members of Pussy Riot were found safe after they were alleged to have “disappeared” in Crimea.

The Russian punk protest group took to social media to claim that two members – Olya Borisova and Sasha Sofeev – had gone missing on February 26.

A tweet from the group said that Russian security agency, the FSB, had “detained them several times” and “broke their phones and computers”.

“We can not reach out to them,” Pussy Riot added. “We don’t know what has happened to them.”

An additional tweet from Pussy Riot confirmed that the pair have been found.

“We found Sasha and Olya. They were detained several times but safe now,” the tweet read, before Pussy Riot thanked those that helped in the search.

Pussy Riot first rose to fame in February 2012 after they were arrested for staging a “punk protest” against Russian President Vladimir Putin in a Moscow church.

Three members of the group, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich, were jailed over the incident later that year.

Samutsevich was released after two months, while Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina remained in jail for over a year, eventually being released in December 2013.
