As they gear up to hit the road in the States with Queens Of The Stone Age, Wolf Alice have revealed what they’ve been playing on their tour bus stereo. Watch our video interview with the band above.

Speaking to NME on the red carpet of the BRIT Awards 2018, where they were nominated for Best British Group alongside the likes of Royal Blood and London Grammar, Wolf Alice spoke of their excitement for upcoming shows supporting Josh Homme and co.

“We’re going to America for two months,” singer Ellie Rowsell told NME. “We’ve got a whole lot of shows over there and a couple with Queens Of The Stone Age, which should be cool.”

Drummer Joel Amey continued: “I’m actually really up for going on the road with them. They’re an amazing live band. We learnt quite a lot in the early days from going on the road with really established bands and picking up a few tricks. I’m going to pick up a few tricks. [Manic Street Preachers] are an example of a band who taught us something quite early on. They’re an amazing band.”

But what will they listening to on the road? We asked the band what’s been on rotation on their tour bus soundsystem.

“I listen to this band called Dasher, who I was telling Ellie about,” said Joel. “That’s really cool. It’s like this one-woman punk project. That’s really good. I’ve also found this band called Minimal Man from the ’80s who I really like.”

Bassist Theo Ellis added: “I like the new Shame record a lot. I also like this band from Australia called Amyl And The Sniffers. I really like them a lot.”

The BRIT for Best British Group went to Gorillaz, but London Grammar singer Hannah Reid revealed that she had a special place in her heart for fellow nominees Wolf Alice.

“Every single other nominee in our category is just unreal,” she told NME. “We’re such big fans of all of their music individually, but we’re really proud just to be here in that category alongside them.”

Reid added: “We probably all think that Gorillaz or The xx will win, but I personally have a real soft spot for Wolf Alice. They’re the most unique band around at the moment. I love her [singer Ellie Rowsell] and I think she’s amazing, so if they won I think that would be pretty cool.”
