Editors unveil blistering new song and video ‘Hallelujah (So Low)’

Editors have unveiled their bold new single and video for ‘Hallelujah So Low)’. Check it out below.

Following on from lead single ‘Magazine’ ahead of new album ‘Violence‘, the new track sees the band lean on their more aggressive, Depeche Mode-esque synth-rock sound, as they team up with longtime collaborator Rahi Rezvani for the dramatic performance-based video.

“I wrote the words to ‘Hallelujah (So Low)’ when I got back from a trip with Oxfam, visiting refugee camps in Northern Greece,” frontman Tom Smith said of the track. “It was obviously an incredibly moving trip, seeing people living in dust, surviving only on the help of others was very moving.

“Musically the track hung on the relationship between the acoustic guitar and the drum machine, that was part of the track from my demo, it had something special very early on…then when Justin came up with his outrageous guitar riff we knew we had a winner. It’s the most “rock” we’ve ever been and it’s exhilarating.”

He added: “I think the video attempts to capture this intensity, both in the track and in us as a live band.”

Editors release new album ‘Violence’ on March 9. As well as supporting The Cure at British Summer Time in Hyde Park, they will launch the record with a string of UK shows. Dates are below and tickets are available here.

March 4 – Birmingham, Town Hall March 5 – Manchester, Cathedral March 6 – London, The Clapham Grand
