Rumours are circulating that Kendrick Lamar could be performing live at the BRIT Awards later.

The 38th BRIT Awards take place at London’s O2 Arena tonight (February 21). Comedian Jack Whitehall will host.

Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton, Rag’n’Bone Man and Jorja Smith, Rita Ora and Liam Payne, Sam Smith and Stormzy are all confirmed to perform during the main show.

Paloma Faith, Clean Bandit and Julia Michaels, J Hus, Liam Payne and Jorja Smith, and Stormzy will perform prior to the ceremony.

There have been sightings of Lamar’s crew walking around backstage with artist passes usually reserved for performers, leading to speculation among fans.

NME has approached the BRITs camp for comment.

Dua Lipa made BRITS history with her five nominations, the most a female solo artist has received in one year at the awards. She is in the running for British Solo Female Artist, British Artist Video of the Year, British Breakthrough Act, British Single and Mastercard British Album of the Year.

The pop star has also bagged the most nominations at this year’s BRITs, with Ed Sheeran following behind her with four. Stormzy and J Hus, meanwhile, have three nominations apiece.

Jorja Smith is the first confirmed winner at the ceremony, having been voted the 2018 Critics Choice Award recipient.
