Former S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole has spoken out about his regrets surrounding the much publicised selling of his BRIT award last month.

Following an unsuccessful Ebay auction where the winner, an overseas fan, failed to pay the £66,000, Paul is attempting to sell it again hoping for more success the second time.

However, while appearing on ‘Loose Women’, the singer spoke about how the whole experience wasn’t for publicity and his dire financial situation forced him to attempt to sell the award again.

Speaking on the daytime show, Cattermole said: “It was no way a PR thing. I didn’t expect it to go how it did. I regret, in a way, how it has gone”.

He continued: “I was hoping to be able to sell them quietly, without there being a furore”.

Speaking about his money problems, he revealed that he has tried to appear on reality TV shows but “they just haven’t wanted me for whatever the reason”.

Cattermole previously told NME how he was forced to sell the award after injuring his back during a tour of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which limited his immediate work prospects.

“When I was doing The Rocky Horror Picture Show [the stage adaptation with Diana Vickers, which toured across the UK] a year ago, I was injured in quite a bad way”, he said.

“There was an un-choreographed bit of dancing [that went wrong] and someone fell on me. I was out of the show for about two months. My back has gone – it hasn’t been right since. Things just haven’t gone well this year [in terms of finding work] with that injury.”
