The Red Wave is a general name for a number of musical trends that developed in the USSR at the turn of the eighties and nineties. The term first appeared in 1986, when the US released a collection of "Red Wave". It included the songs of the groups "Aquarium", "Cinema", "Alice" and "Strange games". Today the "red wave" refers to the whole spectrum of Soviet music of that time, one way or another related to New Wave, Synthpop, Postpunk, Minimal Synth and Electropop. Every weekday is a new playlist in the "Genre of the Day" rubric. Here and in our telegram-channel: t.me/ya_musicgenre.
