Grime

Grime (English Grime) - a genre that emerged in the early 2000's in eastern London at the junction of gerja and raggamuffin. Grime is characterized by a tempo of about 140 beats per minute, minimalist breakbeat with pronounced small drums, futuristic electronic sounds and deaf basses. In 2003, the performer Dizzee Rascal won the prestigious British music award Mercury Prize for his debut album Boy in da Corner. Other successful representatives of the genre are Wiley, Skepta, Kano, Stormzy and Lady Sovereign. Every weekday is a new playlist in the "Genre of the Day" rubric.
